System Description
The OMNICON Large Plate Zone Reader automates
the measurement of zones of inhibition performed during
the testing of antibiotics to determine potency during
the manufacturing process. The system provides you with
fast reproducible, quantitative results while automating
one of the most time-consuming, tedious tasks in your
lab.
The OMNICON Large Plate Zone Reader integrates image analysis,
automatic stage, comparison and reporting to provide accurate
results in record time. The software performs antibiotic bioassays
in accordance to the procedures defined in the British and
European Pharmacopoeia.
Plate Reading
The automatic stage can accommodate either a 254 mm
or 355 mm square plate. The OMNICON Large Plate Zones Reader
can measure all zones on a 254 mm square plate, calculate
results, display and print results in 2-3 minutes. In addition,
a user defined shape criteria can be used to exclude zones
which are oval in shape due to spills or irregular growth.
